PCB layout and design consulting
Need a board laid out or a design reviewed? We can help.
What we do
- PCB layout from your schematic: placement, routing, stack-up and constraints through to a complete fabrication and assembly package. High-speed, high-layer-count and high-current boards are familiar ground: designs to date run to 24 layers, 10,000 parts and 18 Gbps multi-channel signalling, with backplanes and blind, buried and back-drilled vias.
- Design and DFM reviews of an existing layout before release: signal and power integrity, stack-up and via structures, manufacturability, and the drawings the fabricator and assembler will actually build from.
- Panelization and fabrication drawings, including arrays sized to your assembler's process.
- Library and automation work: footprint and symbol libraries, pre- and post-route review checklists, and Python scripting that takes the repetitive steps out of a design flow.
Tools
Xpedition (Siemens, formerly Mentor; certified in the Xpedition layout flow) and Altium Designer for layout. ICD PowerStack for stack-up and power-distribution design. SolidWorks for ECAD/MCAD collaboration. Python for design automation. Fabrication outputs in Gerber or ODB++, or whatever your fabricator prefers.
How an engagement works
Send the schematic, mechanical constraints, and your target fabricator and assembler. You get a fixed quote and a schedule within a few days. Layout runs through a placement review with you before routing starts and a design review before release, so nothing is a surprise at the end. Deliverables are the full fabrication and assembly data (Gerber or ODB++, drill, pick-and-place, fabrication and assembly drawings) and the native design files; you own everything.
